Ali made her debut on the big screen in 1988, when she was in Crocodile Dundee II. Ali made her mark in the world of television as well. A Man Called Hawk and Wally and the Valentines were among her TV characters. Ali's breakthrough project was when she introduced Ashley Banks to life on the hit TV show, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air , in the year 1990. The show was a collaboration with the actor Will Smith, the series was a huge success. It was one of the top shows on NBC which ranked 12th in all programs between 1990 and 1992. The show would go on to receive two coveted Golden Globe nominations.
